CANOGA PARK DIA DE LOS MUERTOS CHALK FESTIVAL

Main Street Canoga Park invites you to participate in the 12th Annual Dia De Los Muertos Festival and become part of this exciting tradition in Canoga Park! Día de los Muertos, (The Day of the Dead), is a celebration, which represents the merging of an ancient Aztec celebration with Catholicism. The tradition grew from the belief that the souls of the dead return each year to visit with and be entertained by their loved ones.  Many of the traditions are consistent with All Souls and All Saints Day.  It is a day of celebration. Hollywood Forever 2012 Dia de los Muertos Celebration

Pictures of my Mermaid Altar at the Hollywood Forever 2012 Dia de los Muertos Celebration event. My altar was dedicated to Julia Lujan, who passed of Childhood Cancer in 2008.

 The best part of my altar was after dark! I lit it with black lights and it was glowing!

HOLLYWOOD FOREVER DIA DE LOS MUERTOS, OCT 27th!

Join me on October 27, 2012 at Hollywood Forever Cemetery for their 27th Annual Day of the Dead Celebration! This will be my first time creating an altar. My alter will be at space #38 entitled "FOREVER EIGHT" It will be a tribute to my little friend Julia Lujan. If I win, I am going to donate 10% of the prize money to a Childhood Cancer Foundation. In honor of El Monte's Centennial Anniversary, the city of El Monte and volunteers are bringing the community together for a night of rejoicing and celebrating "Memories of El Monte Celebration," which will include Live Music, Art, Car Show, Food Trucks, Art Show and much more...

It will be held SATURDAY, OCTOBER 20th, from 1-6 pm at Arceo Park.

As part of this event, I will be displaying artwork in the Art Show. See you there!
